U:In 1966, D.W.Phillipson excavated hominid remains in a rockshelter in Little Makwe Hill, Katete District, Eastern Province, 2-5 km NNW of boundary post 16 on the Zambia/Mocambique border. The hominid remains come from different horizons in a stratified cave deposit, together with an extant fauna and Late Stone Age Makawe Industry. Horizon 2ii yielded an incisor tooth and carries and A2 date of 4010 +- 90 BP (SR-204). Horizon 4i-ii yielded 3M and a radius(ff) and carries an A2 date of c. 2000-1000 BP.
