U:A hominid skeleton was excavated by T. Jacob in 1960-61 in a cave in the banks of the Kwaenoi river, in Kanchanaburi, at a depth of 1.5 m(4.5 ft). A3 age estimated to be c. 4000 BP. It was a flexed burial with lower limbs vertical, face and chest red ochred, and it was associated with Mesolithic Pre-ceramic implements. Sai-Yok 1, fibula: F=0.095%, 100F/P205=0.3, N=nil. Associated fauna: Hystrix, Ursus thibetanus, Felis tigris, Sus scrofa cristatus, Rusa unicolor, Muntiacus muntjak, Bibos javanicus, B. sumatraensis. Reptilia: Varanus. T.
